BFA’s and MFA’s vs MBA’s: Who makes better business decisions?
Apparently (and as I suspected) it’s designers.

With only 15 minutes to convince a skeptical panel of experienced professionals about a new idea that doesn’t exist in the world today, they fared significantly better than their MBA counterparts. Why? Because they shared real user insights to engage us emotionally, used narrative and stories to compel us, drew sketches and visualizations to inspire us, and simplified the complex to focus us. It’s proof positive that numbers and bullet points, while important, aren’t necessarily what drive executive decision making.

UX is at the heart of any company
“While this [UX] is often associated with the Web, consumers who experience good UX online don’t switch off their expectations when they switch off the computer. The principles and theories of UX have created a new normal in terms of brand delivery and interaction. They state that how people actually use your product is much more important than how it was intended to be used. So engaging your consumer in ongoing, iterative product development is more valuable than holding out for a “perfect” product launch.”

Rimino - A Human Touch on Mobile Experience
Some interesting ideas in this video:
- Bendable hardware
- Entire back being a camera of some sort being able to recognize text, etc
- Content-aware writing recognition (if you write something that looks like an address the phone recognizes it as such)
- Being able to select a person from your contacts and “tap” them to get their attention
- Having the ability to let the phone “know” you are using the computer and to forward all alerts to it
- Having multiple mobile devices work together and automatically sync together to make a larger screen
Another look at content-aware features coming in Photoshop CS6, ridiculous
